Our Story

Underground Systems (US) started as a small family business in Buford, Georgia over 28 years ago. The company's initial focus was burying cable and telephone service lines for the expanding telecommunications industry of the early 1990s. However, fierce competition for laying cable lines quickly created the need for us to invest in new knowledge and technology relating to underground utilities. A quickly growing method known as Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) was what Underground Systems needed to provide. Using trench-less HDD technology, Underground Systems' capabilities have expanded to include the installation of conduit for gas, power, sewer, water lines, and conduit for Electric Vehicle charging stations.

Underground Systems' commitment to advancing with technology as well as striving to maintain close relationships with their customers has allowed them to grow from a relatively small business, to a multi-million-dollar company with a well-known name around the Metro Atlanta area. Family owned and operated, Underground Systems continues to provide the same small business feel in every aspect of the company. Underground Systems is determined to continue providing excellent underground conduit services, backed by years of experience, which will help make necessary utilities such as water, sewer, gas, telecommunications, and power more quickly and easily available, and in turn, help our community live more comfortable, safe, and healthy lives.

Underground Systems has provided utility installation services to many commercial businesses and residential homes throughout the Atlanta area. We work with many of the state's city and county governments as well as major communication and utility companies throughout Georgia. Our clients include companies such as Zayo Group, AT&T, ElectriCom, Charter Communications, Comcast, Google, Verizon Wireless, Sprint Corporation, Reeves Young, Brasfield & Gorrie, City of Cumming Sewer and Water, and City of Sugar Hill Gas.
